This mine
on Apperson Creek did not operate after WWI and was never commercialized.
The North Piney ranchers loaded their coal themselves and hauled it by
wagon from this mine, which they reached by driving up the creek bed. In
1906, Link Shideler had a prospect in this area, but it was covered by
a landslide before it could be developed.
